2. SYRINA(15): George Clooney's Oscar-winning role as a CIA agent is just one of the many outstanding features of this intricate movie about intelligence and terrorism in the oil industry.

3. BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN(15): Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick take on the roles they originated on Broadway. The Producers is every bit as entertaining as the stage musical.

3. THE WORLD'S FASTEST INDIAN(12A): Anthony Hopkins stars in this charming film, the true story of Burt Munro whose lifelong dream is to travel to the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah and set a new land speed record.

5. WALK THE LINE(12a): Joaquin Phoenix takes on the Herculean task of embodying legendary country singer Johnny Cash through his pivotal years and the young actor is truly electrifying.

6 . INSIDE MAN(15): Denzel Washington, Clive Owen and Jodie Foster star in Spike Lee's slickly executed heist thriller. With echoes of The Usual Suspects and Dog Day Afternoon, no one is quite what they seem in this edge-of-seat thriller.

7. ICE AGE 2: THE MELTDOWN (U) The quality of the computer animation has improved immeasurably from the first film but this will probably leave older audiences feeling a tad chilly.

8. THE PINK PANTHER (PG) Steve Martin takes on the role of the bumbling Inspector Clouseau in this remake. Much of the comedy verges on the moronic and illogical.

9. SCARY MOVIE 4(12a) The fourth and final instalment of the Scary Movie series goes out with a bang - the almost total destruction of the world. But it isn't a case of gags failing to hit their target; the laughs just aren't there.

10. BASIC INSTINCT 2 (18) Sharon Stone is back as the sexually voracious, best-selling crime novelist Catherine Tramell.
