YOBBISH behaviour in Tidworth will now meet a considerably longer arm of the law following the introduction of a new police support team.
The town has become one of the first areas in Wiltshire to roll out two Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) in a bid to build links with the community and cut crime.
PCSOs Maria Downham and Hollie Thompson will pound the pavements of Tidworth on regular patrols as a means of reassuring residents and discouraging anti-social behaviour.
Hollie said: "I am thoroughly enjoying the new role, which involves working closely alongside many other agencies and other issues the community feels strongly about.
"I feel we will help greatly towards keeping Wiltshire safe."
Wiltshire's neighbourhood policing initiative provides back-up for front line police officers in a non-confrontational way.
