FUNDING allocated by the Government's Hous-ing Corporation will provide a big boost for new affordable housing in Kennet in the next two financial years.
Together with £1 million Kennet Council is budgeting for grant aid, which means that Devizes-based Sarsen Housing Assoc-iation will have funding to provide 104 new affordable homes.
Of these 62 will be for rent and 42 for sale under a new Homebuy scheme.
Councillor Janet Giles, Kennet's housing champion, said: "This is great news for the many people, young and old, who are relying on new provision by housing associations to give them the opportunity of a decent home.
