TEENAGE fencing star Ben Peggs' great start to the year continued when he represented Great Britain and England for the first time.
The 15-year-old from Bramley, who continues to climb the national rankings, made his GB debut at foil in the Koblenz Cadet International, where he finished 90th out of a field of 234.
A month later, he was a member of a victorious England under-16 team in the Junior Four Nations competition in Edinburgh. England beat teams from Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
The fencer, who attends Bradfield College, has been competing in many men's national open events across the country.
On the first weekend of April he celebrated his best-ever result when he won the Glasgow Open.
Before that, his best finish was third places in the Merseyside and Nottingham Opens.
Peggs (above) has also picked up three further top-10 placings from fields of more than 60 in the Scottish Open in Edinburgh, the Hampshire Open at Fareham and the Invicta Open at Folkestone.
The teenager is currently ranked number 53 in the country for senior men, 18th at under-20 and ninth at under-17.
