ROMAN Weekend: I have just had the good news that £3,900 was raised at the Roman Weekend.
Thanks again to Silchester Association for the hard work that was put into this event, which was not without its share of headaches.
EASTER: Several services were held over the weekend, with a very large congregation in the parish church for the Easter Day service.
Eggs were given to children (and some lucky adults) after the service.
Seventeen people attended the sunrise service and all looked quite perky in spite of the 6am start. Well done.
SILCHESTER Association: Has its AGM on Friday, April 28, in the club room of the village hall at 8pm.
After the short AGM, Alan Freeman will speak on his wartime experiences.
Entry forms for the fun run will also be available at this evening.
FURTHER dates for your diary: Professor Michael Fulford will give a talk in the hall on May 23.
This is a very popular event so you need to book the date and arrive a bit early.
Dig dates are Monday, July 3, to Sunday, August 13, with open days on July 22 and August 5.
FUN run date: Is Saturday, May 13, at 11am.
