CLIFT Meadow: The refurbished pavilion is now up and running.

The trustees invite you to come and have a look, on May 20.

There is a large room with a kitchen off it, as well as other facilities.

The tennis courts have been updated and the long-awaited ballcourt is open.

SUMMER fair: The Bramley Church and CMS Summer Fair will take place on the Clift Meadow on Saturday, June 17, from 2pm.

PARISH council meeting: Under planning, there had been a late application for permission for two illuminated display units.

There was a lengthy discussion about the area of land adjacent to 24 Longridge Road. This is still ongoing.

The suggestion of a sliproad to relieve traffic building up at the junction of Bramley Lane with C32 when the railway gates are closed was not supported by the highways authority traffic management.

The council had carefully looked into the effect that two years' work at Bramley Frith would have on the village.

The background is that two new generators are to be installed but first the site must be excavated.

The environmental centre will close in July.

In response to an appeal for funding, the council made a grant of £500 to Bramley After School Club.

The chairman said that, sadly, Mr Banning, the litter warden, had fallen ill and passed away after only a short period of service. A new warden, Jamie Snow, is already working.
