SOUTHAMPTON heaveyweight Colin Kenna suffered his second defeat on the bounce when he was knocked out by Ukrainian Oleg Platov in Germany.
Fighting on the undercard of the Klitschko v Byrd World IBF title fight in Mannheim on Saturday night, the 29-year-old Kenna faced a tough task against his younger opponent, who now has a record of 21-1.
Irish-born Kenna, based in Lordshill, who hoped the fight would put his boxing career back on track after losing his Southern Area title to Mickey Steeds, was stopped in the fifth of eight scheduled rounds.
In the main event, the Ukraine's Vladimir Klitschko stopped defending champion Chris Byrd (US) in the seventh round.

Southampton's Iain Weaver will compete in the final of the National Junior ABAs after a comprehensive points victory over Reading's Ross Green.
The 16-year-old Golden Ring fighter won 16-4 in the Class 4 (52kg) semi-final bout at Aldershot over the weekend.
He will now fight Manchester's Anthony Leake in the final in Barnsley on May 6
