Corhampton's Katie Thompson and teammates Hannah Barwood (Knowle) and Rachel Connor (Manchester) were runners-up in the team section of the Scottish St Leonards Under-16 Strokeplay Championship.
They were beaten by one shot by Scotland (300), who rallied after the first round when they were eight strokes adrift of England (301).
Thompson, with rounds of 73 and 80, also battled the strong winds over the Strathtyrum course at St Andrews to land fourth place in the individual event - just four strokes adrift of home winner Carly Booth (76, 73).
England team manager Claire Lilley said: "We took four girls who were new to this event and it was a good learning environment for them in terms of course management and preparation.
"It was also a good opportunity for the more experienced players - Rachel Connor, Hannah Barwood, Katie Thompson and Kelly Tidy - to take part in an early-season event in preparation for the season."
