MOTORCYCLING: Three of the area's motorcycle short circuit racers left the NG Club meeting at Donington Park leading their respective class championships.
Mark Russell (Warsash) competed on his Suzuki 600 and secured heat and final wins in the Streetstock class to amass a 15-point championship lead.
Portchester's Mark Compton (Aprilia Factory) set the fastest lap time but had to settle for second place in both of the Sound of Thunder races.
However, he still has a nine-point championship lead.
Gary Teague (Eastleigh) maintained a narrow lead in the Open event with third and fifth place finishes.
But with a DNF in the Powerbike class final, he has dropped to third in this championship.
Fareham exile Matt Sherlow remains unbeaten in the Mini Twins category.
The Solent Road Racers Supporters Club are holding a club night tomorrow at Wickham Social Club, Mill Lane (8pm). Riders and enthusiasts welcome.
