JUST one man took up the Mayor of Test Valley's special invitation to celebrate the Queen's 80th birthday at a tea party.
Cllr Peter Boulton had invited all parish residents who turned 80 in April to join him for the special royal tea party but only Mr Peter Thorne turned up.
Undeterred, Mr Thorne, from Highlands Road, Andover and his wife Sylvia, spent a couple of hours on Friday afternoon drinking tea with the mayor and mayoress in Andover's Guildhall.
The birthday tea party began at 3.30pm and included a table full of finger food and sandwiches with a variety of fillings - smoked salmon, ham and egg and cress.
