ANDOVER'S Bridge Street Methodist Church is celebrating its centenary this year and is marking the milestone birthday with a series of events.
The celebrations began on 19 April with a centenary service which was attended by the Mayor of Test Valley, Cllr Peter Boulton.
The president of the Methodist Conference, the Rev Thomas Stuckly, also attended and took the opportunity to preach at the service which was preceded by a centenary buffet supper.
Throughout the year former ministers of the church will be invited to preach at special services.
A centenary May Day walk is being organised together with an art show, a slide show by John Marchment MBE, a flower festival and several musical concerts.
