THE OLD BOYS completed their season last Sunday with a second half avalanche of six goals, also completing the double over their opponents from Dorset.
It was a somewhat shaky first half for both teams until the 38th minute when Mickey Tanner's cross was turned past his own keeper by a visitors'defender.
The Dodgers pushed forward at the start of the second half and were rewarded with an equaliser from Dave Lax. But the Old Boys then took over, and dominated the remainder of the match. James put them in front from the penalty spot and then went on to complete his hat-trick. Livewire Mark Barrett weighed in with a brace and Trevor Morris hit the Old Boys' seventh with a drive from outside the area.
Old Boys' man of the match was Mike Tanner. Braishfield OBs 7 Dorset Dodgers 1 It was nice to see the Vets still enjoying their football and only going down on one occasion this season, to an odd- goal defeat at Southampton University.
