It's certainly been a week for miracles.
In my case it all started last Saturday in the bright sunshine when at the request of one my old players, Manny Andruszewski, along with MP Sandra Gidley, I helped launch Making Miracles Childcare Ltd for his partner Jane Ogden.
The plan is to have a maximum of 20 youngsters from three months to five-years-old, Monday to Friday.
The very nice nursery is located in Shaftesbury Avenue, Chandler's Ford.
If last week is anything to go by the parents who have already enrolled their children are happy and the youngsters looked as though they didn't want to leave.
There are still places left and the contact number is 023 8090 6340.
I carried on in the afternoon to bowl the first wood of the season at Eastleigh Railway Bowling Club.
It certainly isn't as easy as it looks and I wisely restricted my efforts to three woods in case I got shown up by the many members of all age groups, who this year will be having its first lady president, Lillian Moore, in more than 90 years of history.
Although St George's Day was on Sunday, I was lucky enough to attend the annual lunch to celebrate our patron saint in the Casa Bodega restaurant in Romsey.
It was hosted by Pat Trant with MC Dennis Bundy in fine form, leading everyone in the traditional toast and charge in the style of Winston Churchill himself.
The table of Irishmen in the room even had to join in whilst my neighbour on my table Geoff Glover, who has recently arrived from Australia to become manager at Ford in Swaythling, didn't quite know what to make of it all.
But he certainly was reminded by Dennis about convicts etc.
