A Winchester rock school has launched a new project for bored teenagers.
Rock 2 is an offshoot from the Winnall Rock School and is for people aged 15-18 from the Winnall, Stanmore and Highcliffe areas every Tuesday evening.
The project will involve learning or improving guitar, drums, keyboard or voice work, songwriting, recording music, beat-making and performing at gigs.
The sessions are run by a friendly group of tutors led by Brighton-based professional musician Tobin Thomson.
The sessions are free and Tobin says he doesn't mind if people have little or no experience, or just want to make plenty of noise, but they do need to bring along loads of enthusiasm and be ready to work at their ideas and music.
Sessions are on Tuesdays between 6-9pm at Winnall Primary School, Garbett Road, Winnall. For more information please contact Niki on 01962 848303.
Rock 2 is funded by the Local Network Fund and Winchester City Council. The rock school is also looking for some more volunteer tutors, male or female, aged 18 plus with good music skills, who can spare an evening each week to help with this neighbourhood project supporting young people.
