A Winchester estate is set to benefit from a new crime-breaking initiative.
Residents in Highcliffe will be visited by a multi-agency project that aims to improve an area environmentally and so discourage crime and disorder.
Members of the Winchester Community Safety Partnership will join local people to promote solutions to crime and environmental problems as well as hold a series of fun events to boost community spirit.
The CREW (Crime Reduction and environment Week) runs from Wednesday, May 31 to Wednesday, June 7. The Highcliffe area has been selected following an environmental visual audit of the area to identify any problems.
There will be increased high-visibility patrolling, targeting of vehicle offending, the removal of fly-tipping, litter and graffiti.
Sandra Tuddenham, from the Community Safety Partnership, said: "CREWs are a great opportunity for the community to talk to a number of agencies during the week and either get advice or discuss issues pertinent to them and their community, as well as the chance to join in events and get to know their community better.
"We want to get local people involved and encourage them to continue to set up their own schemes and initiatives, such as Neighbourhood Watch, with support from us to keep the momentum going post CREW."
Businesses, voluntary organisations or members of the public who would like to raise any issues can contact Jo Naylor, Neighbourhood Services, on 01962 840222 or Sandra Tuddenham, community safety officer, on 01962 848132.
