BASINGSTOKE motorcycle racer Jennifer Crosby was named Rookie of the Day after gaining her first-ever trophy in the British Motorcycle Racing Club Clubman 400 Championship at Brands Hatch.
The rider scored a fantastic second place in only her fourth-ever race meeting.
Starting from the front row of the grid, thanks to an excellent fourth place in the race on Saturday, May 20, Crosby made a flying start and began the battle for a podium position.
Nearing the end of the race, she found herself in second place, with the leader some way in front.
She said: "I just tried to keep things smooth, not to try to catch the leader, but to make sure I didn't lose second."
Crosby was able to close on the leader and, had there been a few more laps, she could undoubtedly have challenged for the chequered flag.
Two excellent results at Brands Hatch moved Crosby into eighth spot in the championship.
The next round of the race series is at the Croix en Ternois circuit, in France, this coming weekend.
