ONE of Hampshire's smallest rural schools is certainly one step ahead when it comes to using the latest information and communication technology.
Broughton Primary School in Broughton, Stockbridge, is one of the first in the country to receive the prestigious new ICT Mark. The national quality mark recognises that the school uses ICT to support all learners and activities. It comes after the school received another accolade - the Naacemark - earlier this year.
Janet Smith, head teacher of the 60-pupil school said: "We are all delighted to receive the ICT mark. It recognises our approach to ICT and the positive impact that it is having on our school as a whole."
The school boasts a centralised computer suite and a pod of computers in each of the classrooms. There are also two lunchtime computer clubs on offer to the school's pupils aged from four to 11.
