DANEBURY, the Iron Age Hill Fort has been officially re-opened following essential earthworks to restore the monument to its full glory.
Owned by Hampshire County Council, the work included repairing the earthworks and rampart paths, which had become badly eroded as a result of the growing number of visitors to the site.
The most obvious improvements have been made to worn steps as well as the laying down of a gravel footpath into and around the monument.
