STOCKBRIDGE: Parish council chairman David Baseley has decided to have "one last year" in the role.
Initially, he planned to step down this month, but he has been urged him to continue. Clerk Kenrick Fell said: "Since he made his original decision he has been asked by residents and councillors to carry on."
Mr Baseley insists this will be his fourth and final term. He said: "I had no intention of continuing, but so many people have asked me to stay and I'm delighted to carry on."
Janet Whiteley will continue as vice chairman.
