The power battle for control of the Saints boardroom today took a bizarre twist when it was revealed that the London-based public relations company, employed by the football club, had posted pro-Rupert Lowe messages on a fans website.
And in a smokescreen to try to appear as though the messages were coming from genuine fans, the PR company even resorted to calling the Saints chairman derogatory names in two Internet postings.
Saints managing director, Andrew Cowen, confirmed the company are paying for the company, but deflected criticism by insisting: "I'm not sure this is quite Watergate."
