Blacknest's Steve Cowle took full advantage of his early morning start time to claim victory in the Cams Hall Estates Golf Club Pro-Am.

In relatively benign conditions former Hampshire Open Champion Cowle, pictured below, posted a three-under-par round of 68 and was back in the clubhouse before the wind increased to gale-force proportions and blew the afternoon starters away.

Stoneham's Ben Johnson was another early starter, taking second place with a two-under-par round of 69. Third went to Lee-on-the-Solent's Rob Edwards with a level par 71.

The Pro-Am tournament was organised by club professional Jason Neve and sponsored by Alan Day Honda and Taylor Made Computer Solutions. A total of 41 teams took part with Weybrook Park's Andrew Cloke taking victory with his team of Paul Terry, Vic Grant and Eugene Slevin,

They pushed Dummer's David Holman and his team of Victoria Ray, Gary Tardival and David Bunn into second place after a count-back. Ben Johnson and his team of Ray Porter, David Painter and Ray Warke were third.
