Trojans (201-4) beat OTs & Romsey (199-7) by 6 wickets OLD Tauntonians and Romsey slipped to a third defeat in the drizzle at the Trojans ground.

Max Smith (30) and Stuart Tulk (33) got things off to a good start for OTR, but a four-wicket burst from Mario Mohammed sparked a middle order collapse.

A fine unbeaten 55 from the ever-maturing Paul Longland, coupled with 27 from Steve Caldicott, took OTR to a respectable 199 for 7.

OTs & Romsey started well in the field. The opening pair of Ed Lowe (2-20) and James Ackerman (0-27) took two early wickets and kept runs at a premium.

But after 10 overs the situation changed dramatically. The drizzly rain came down, the wicket became wet and the ball resembled a bar of soap, so much so it was changed three times.

The bowlers lost their grip on the ball and the match, and Trojans began to dominate.

Simon Williams (93no) and Mario Mohammed (48) put on a match winning partnership of 122 as Trojans crossed the line with three overs to spare
