A HAMPSHIRE club has been banned from selling booze after becoming a hotspot for drunken fights and serious drug abuse.
Gosport Working Men’s and Traders’ Union Club has had its licence withdrawn after failing to stop under age drinking and violence.
Gosport Borough Council withdrew the licence following complaints from police who were regularly called to the club.
Members of the licensing sub board unanimously agreed that a ban was the only option.
The ban means that the club cannot supply alcohol to members and guests or provide any entertainment.
The club has 21 days to appeal the decision.
