POLICE in Romsey believe would-be thieves who broke into a car in Chilworth were looking to steal satellite navigation equipment.
The vehicle left in the Hilton Hotel car park in Bracken Place, was searched after a window was broken.
A spokesman said that the holder for the driving gadget was visible and they are continuing their warning to drivers not to leave any in-car equipment, or other possessions inside their vehicles.
The warning comes after a series of thefts from vehicles in the Hedge End area last month.
