AS fans began arriving for this weekend's Isle of Wight music festival, a fresh appeal was launched for an Island teenager who disappeared 24 years ago.
The National Missing Persons Helpline will be displaying an age enhanced picture of Jeffrey Allen suggesting how he might look, aged 41, to festival-goers in the hope that someone will be able to recognise him.
Mr Allen went missing from his Ryde home when he was just 17 in August 1982. He has not been seen or heard from since.
His mother, Rosemary Allen, said: "I'll never give up hope. All I want is for Jeffery to know how much we miss him. It's been so long but never a day goes by when I don't think about Jeffrey.
If you have seen Jeffery please call the confidential missing person's helpline on Freephone 0500 700 700.
