THE Daily Echo's search for the best World Cup house goes on but residents of one Southampton street have taken things a step further.
People in Sutherland Road, Lordshill, pictured above, have decorated their entire cul-de-sac in England colours.
Flags and bunting adorn every home to show their backing for Beckham, Crouch, Walcott and co.
Ben Woods, 22, of Sutherland Road, said: "Every house in the street is covered in St George's flags and we have got flags and bunting going from one side of the road to the other from pillar to post. Some people have painted the England flag on their house.
"Everyone has gone a bit mad because we think we have got a real chance of winning this year."
Meanwhile, a World Cup war has been declared among Hampshire bars and pubs with the tournament just a few days old. Bitterne Park Social Club, pictured below, claims it has the best England decorations in Southampton.
Kim Garner, a member of the Manor Farm Road club, said: "Our decorations are stunning. The committee members and the steward Dave Hacking have made such an effort.
"There are huge England flags up and every square inch of the club is covered in buntings or flags."
