THE Land Rover Discovery 3 has proved that no mission is impossible, by taking on all-comers and emerging victorious yet again with a five-star rating in What Car? magazine's latest 4x4 group test.

The Discovery 3 is currently starring alongside Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible III playing a major role in the film's action-packed finale but it was the vehicle's off-screen performance that has so impressed What Car? judges.

Ottons Land Rover dealer principal Sean Otton said: "The Discovery 3 has once again proven that for versatility, practicality and movie star looks, there is no other vehicle that delivers the same performance whether on-road, off-road or on-screen."

Despite competition from rivals including the Lexus RX the Discovery remains What Car?'s favourite large 4x4 with the magazine announcing that it is a vehicle which: "Blends workhorse ability, executive refinement and a versatile cabin."

In its most recent group test against new contenders including the Audi Q7 and the Mercedes R-Class, the Discovery emerged as the winner yet again, its breadth of talent making it: "adept at running the kids to school, heading off into the highlands and cutting a dash in the corporate car park". According to What Car?'s testers: "It turns every family outing into an adventure and yet scrubs up to look every inch the sophisticate".

What Car? uses an exhaustive evaluation process that appraises a vehicle's performance in nine separate areas using a five-star rating system before recommending the best vehicle competing in each category.

Sean added: "Among the qualities that the judges awarded five stars were the Discovery's handling, practicality and safety."

The Discovery 3 is available from £26,995 on the road. To find out more about current offers and contract hire rates contact Ottons Land Rover on 01722 414 400 .
