A THOUSAND yellow plastic ducks drifting down a Hampshire stream have helped raise much-needed school funds.
Wickham Primary School will receive the proceeds from the annual event, which saw the flotilla of ducks wend its way from Bridge Street to Forge Garage in Wickham on Sunday.
The winning duck was bought by Rob Richards.
A feature this year was a raft race, pictured, in which the home-made mini-boats had to negotiate the weirs without losing an egg. The winner was Penny Thomas, a Year 5 pupil at the primary school.
Organiser Caroline Martin said: "It went fantastically well. The numbers of people watching were down but it clashed this year with the Bishop's Waltham Carnival."
The school should receive a cheque for about £1,200.
The race was organised by Friends of Wickham Primary School and Square Events, charity fundraisers. Try Homes put up the prize money.
