THEY'VE reduced Shakespeare, abridged the Bible, abbreviated American history and compressed literature now the RSC are doing their level best to condense Hollywood.

The show provides a whistlestop tour through every aspect of movie-making the films, the showbiz, the pretences and cliches, the tears and the tantrums. The format is the same as their other shows three actors (in this instance Aaron Brown, David Menkin and Adam D Millard) going completely OTT in their efforts to condense a great institution into just 90 minutes.

Breathtaking from start to finish, this was the usual high-octane performance we have come to expect.

The show covers every aspect of the movies, including allusions to just about every film worth mentioning. The result is surely the most madcap "movie" of all time.

As usual there was audience participation if your seat is in the front row, you know you have virtually volunteered. This revealed some real stars among the audience, who displayed some great acting and dancing prowess.

This was a mad evening, half insanity and half hilarity but the concept and execution are pure genius.
