YOUNGSTERS from a Hampshire school have been put through their paces to celebrate completing their exams.
The Year 6 students from Ranvilles Primary School in Fareham wrote to various organisations asking if they could offer a reward for all the hard work they had put into their studies.
The staff at HMS Collingwood responded immediately by putting the children through a challenging assault course.
Leading physical trainer, Kev Green, and petty officer, Rick Parcell, together with two helpers from the sport and recreation centre spent a day with the children, giving them an insight into life in the Royal Navy.
Videos and presentations in the morning were followed by team games on the fields. In the afternoon LPT Green an ex-Royal Marine put the youngsters to work on the assault course for which the pupils were awarded prizes.
Keely Weatherall, a Year 6 teacher, said: "The children had a fantastic time and it was a great way for them to unwind after their exams."
