RUSSIAN masterpiece The Return was produced in 2003 and tells the tale of two brothers who live in a small coastal village with their mother and grandmother.
Following a 12-year absence, their father unexpectedly returns into their lives. He takes the boys on a fishing trip, but it soon transpires that he has disturbing tendencies towards domination and shady business deals.
The Return is a deep study of father and son relationships. This was director Andrey Zuyaginstev's first film and it won the prestigious Grand Prize at the Venice Film Festival.
