POLICE are appealing for help in identifying a man who assaulted two mothers in Colden Common.
The attacker assaulted the mothers within the space of a few minutes.
At around 12.45pm on Tuesday, June 13, a woman was pushing her child in a buggy in St Vigor Way.
As she tried to manoeuvre her buggy around him, the man slapped her hard across the buttocks.
Moments later in the same road he slapped a second mother across the behind while she too was pushing a buggy. Both victims were in their 30s.
PC Richard Matthews said: "This man may be under the impression that it is acceptable and just a bit of fun to strike someone on the behind, but he is very much mistaken and his actions constitute assault.
"He had no right to strike the women like he did and his actions and demeanour left them feeling shocked and intimidated."
The man is described as: white, but with a tanned or Mediterranean complexion. In his 50s, around five feet six inches tall, slim, with short grey hair swept back at the sides and with thick, dark bushy eyebrows.
