ESCAPE artist Yan Nicolls thrilled a huge crowd at a family fun day in Hampshire.
Yan was placed in handcuffs and a strait-jacket before being hoisted 100ft above the ground by a giant crane.
The nationally renowned escapologist, pictured, managed to struggle free as thousands watched from below.
Yan, 38, of Hertfordshire, took just two minutes to escape and was rewarded with a huge cheer from the crowd.
His daredevil feat was one of the highlights of the fun day, held at Testwood recreation ground in Salisbury Road, Totton.
The event was staged by Testwood Baptist Church, St Winfrid's Church and St Anne's Church.
Attractions included live music, quad bike rides and a model car racing contest billed as the Totton Grand Prix.
Organiser John Cunningham said that 7,000 people attended the event.
He added: "With everything being free it was funny to see people almost begging to pay for things because it's so unusual not to.
"It was the churches' way of saying we appreciate the community that we're part of.
"We've had so many appreciative texts, phone calls and comments that we've got to make sure this event is kept on the calendar."
