VISITORS to a tourist attraction in Hampshire were whisked back to medieval times as brave knights took part in a two-day jousting tournament.
Scores of mounted skirmishes delighted the crowds at Paultons Park, Ower, while on foot swordsmen slogged it out for the right to a maiden's hand.
Dressed in chainmail and armour the fighters faithfully recreated a typical jousting contest from hundreds of years ago, to show the bravery and athleticism of the knights.
A spokesman for the theme park said: "It's the first time we have run a jousting weekend and we were extremely pleased with the way it went.
"It was a fantastic spectacle and gave the park a really different feel over the two days, with feedback from our visitors suggesting they enjoyed it all as much as we did."
