SOUTHAMPTON'S latest motorcycle dealer, ADT Kawasaki, has been successfully training new riders for 12 years and that contact with motorcyclists made them aware of many factors about biking and bikes.
They identified a gap in the market and included bike sales, workshop facilities and clothing when they moved to larger premises in Shirley.
The success of that venture made the next step obvious and they became solus Kawasaki dealers and are delighted with the response.
What has become apparent from students and customers is that not all women want the same thing from a ride out as men.
That isn't a detrimental comment on female riders or their abilities.
It's just that new women riders in particular can be intimidated by experienced chaps and not everyone (both sexes come to that) are seeking the same thing when it comes to a group ride-out.
Once again there was an obvious solution organise regular ride-outs for female riders led by an experienced and dedicated woman rider.
ADT are busy arranging the meetings and want input from interested riders with suggestions on how these rides should organised.
If you are looking for somewhere to ride and people to ride with, give them a call on 023 8022 4895 or drop into the shop at 222 Shirley Road.
