WILD West fans should saddle up and ride over to a saloon in the New Forest.

An Indian encampment complete with 12ft teepees has sprung up behind the Sir Walter Tyrrell which is staging a country and western festival.

Meanwhile, Pete Tillett, of Gosport, is running a civil war camp and a prospecting town based on a settlement 60 miles from San Diego, California.

The festival, which includes a mock trial, portrays life in the America in the mid-19th century.

Regulars at the pub near Brook will find themselves mingling with gunslingers, poker players and other shady characters until the event ends tomorrow evening.

Country and western singer Mickey Page, of Park Gate, is among the musicians taking part.
