THANKS to Bertie's Restaurant, Kate Bunce & Andrew Wolfe playing Catherine & Dickie Winslow will have music to dance by in RAODS forthcoming production of The Winslow Boy.

Directors of the show Dave & Pat Francis have been searching for an authentic phonograph of the period for their show.

When properties manager Heather Whitham went into the Romsey restuarant she spotted the very thing in the corner of the bar. Manager Brier Francis kindly agreed that the phonograph could be lent to RAODS for their production.

You can see The Winslow Boy at Romsey's Plaza Theatre from July 4 to 8.

When young naval cadet Ronnie Winslow swears he did not steal a five shilling postal order, resulting in his being expelled from Osborne Naval College, his father believes him and begins a fight to prove the boy's innocence.

This drama, written by Terence Rattigan in 1945 is a gift for those who like their plays carefully plotted and constructed.

The Winslow Boy remains, despite its familiarity, an absorbing piece. Rattigan's play exposes the social snobbery of the period as well as the strength and love within an ordinary family.

A strong cast is led by Mike Bull as Arthur Winslow, Helen Dunn as his wife Grace and Kate Bunce playing their feisty daughter Catherine.

Ben Philips has the signature role of Ronnie Winslow, and Frank Allen is the eminent barrister Sir Robert Morton.
