BEAVERS helped a family-owned New Forest hotel celebrate serving its 5,000th locally produced breakfast.
The Brockenhurst lodge tucked in to the grub at the Cottage Hotel, a 350-year-old forester's cottage.
The breakfast, which was launched under the New Forest Marque at last year's New Forest & Hampshire County Show, is a local-twist on the traditional full English breakfast.
All the ingredients free-range pork sausage, dry cure back bacon, dry cure streaky bacon, egg, and a wholemeal bread roll, a tomato and a large mushroom are sourced from the Forest.
Local hotels, farm shops, B&Bs and pubs sell and serve the breakfast, including the Cottage Hotel.
Hotel owner Christina Simons said: "Serving local produce like the breakfast supports the local economy and helps reduce the environmental impact of food miles."
