TALENTED young musicians from a Fair Oak school are performing at Europe's largest youth music festival.
The Wyvern Soul Band from Wyvern Technology College will be among 300 musical groups taking part in the National Festival of Music for Youth in July.
Symphony orchestras, choirs, bands and chamber groups will showcase their music during a week of performances at Birmingham.
Awards are presented throughout the festival and 30 groups will be invited to play at the Music for Youth Schools Proms at the Royal Albert Hall in November.
Members of The Wyvern Soul Band all from Years 10 and 11 will be performing their versions of Motown classics at the festival on July 19.
Lead singer Emma Barney, 15, said: "It's great that all the hard work has paid off.
"We are really looking forward to it."
Emma will be backed by 13 other young musicians.
Their numbers include Jake Dore, who was recently named National Drummer of the Year.
Head of music Bryan Postlethwaite said: "I am very proud of what our young musicians have achieved.
"Performing at the National Festival will be a rewarding and memorable experience for everyone involved."
