FUNDRAISERS prepared to rise to the challenge of a power walking challenge in aid of breast cancer charities had a chance to sign up in Southampton.
Organisers of the Celebrity SunWalk 2010 came to the city centre to encourage men and women of all ages and abilities to take part.
They hope to recruit 5,000 walkers and raise at least £500,000 in the battle against breast cancer.
The event will be held in the city on April 24 and will start and finish at Mayflower Park taking walkers on a 5km or 10km walk around the city.
The park will then form the backdrop for the official naming ceremony for Celebrity Cruises’ latest ship, Celebrity Eclipse.
The Celebrity SunWalk is being organised by Walk the Walk – the charity behind the Moonwalk in London and sponsored by Celebrity Cruises.
Everyone entering either the 5k or 10k challenge could win a place on a two-day voyage to mark the start of the ship’s cruising career.
