SHADOW skills and universities secretary David Willetts outlined Tory plans to create thousands of new apprenticeships, college and uni places on a tour of Hampshire campuses.
Mr Willetts joined the Winchester candidate Steve Brine to see a new performing arts centre at Winchester University and visited Travel Management Solutions in Eastleigh with Tory candidate Maria Hutchings.
Earlier Mr Willetts toured a “skills development zone” at Southampton Solent University with the party’s Itchen candidate Royston Smith. The zone helps the unemployed find training and apprenticeships.
Conservatives claim 5.4 per cent of 16 to 18- year-olds in Hampshire are neither earning or in education.
