CHILDREN'S Laureate Jacqueline Wilson had youngsters gripped in a world of words when she visited Hampshire to celebrate the Queen's 80th birthday.
Fresh from a party at the palace, the multi-award-winning author opened the children's section of the newly transformed Romsey library.
She talked to pupils from Romsey Abbey Primary School about her work and meeting the Queen.
She also enjoyed a tour of the new library before heading to the Theatre Royal in Winchester to speak to 400 excited children about her books.
