THE organiser of Eastleigh Festival has revealed he suffered financial losses of almost £100,000 from staging the event, forcing him to relocate it to Wickham.
Peter Chegwyn the man behind the festival for the past three years, said he personally lost "the best part of £100,000" from hosting the summer concerts.
Mr Chegwyn said the lack of ticket sales were to blame. and said it was the reason why he has moved the event to Wickham, near Fareham.
As previously reported, there will be no festival at all in the borough this year after the new promoter for this year's event also pulled out due to "commercial reasons".
However, council chiefs have pledged that the festival will go ahead next year.
