EASTLEIGH detectives hope that the image of this tribal tattoo will lead to the capture of a thug who tried to snatch a mobile phone.
It was seen on the right forearm of the thief who unsuccessfully tried to rob a 21-year-old man as he walked towards the town centre.
The incident happened while the victim was close to the Jet petrol station in Bishopstoke Road.
The victim suffered minor bruising and swelling to his face after being hit by his attacker, who is described as being black, aged 20-25, about 6ft, of a slim build, with very dark shaven hair and an unshaven face.
He was dressed in a black T-shirt with Adidas written in white letters on the front, blue jeans and white trainers. He had the tribal design tattoo on the inside of his right forearm.
