THE teenage Sea Cadet who fell from a training ship in The Solent on Sunday evening died from severe chest injuries, a post mortem has found.

Jonathan Martin, 14, from Kent, fell 30ft from the rigging of the TS Royalist, moored off Stokes Bay, Gosport. Lifeboat crews recovered him from the water and he was taken to hospital by air ambulance, but pronounced dead.

Hampshire police, who are preparing a file for the coroner, said the injuries were caused by the height of his fall.
