SOUTHAMPTON's Turner Sims and Sir Harold Hillier Gardens present the most laidback gig of the summer with the queen of Brazilian bossa nova jazz Joyce on July 28.
Direct from Rio de Janeiro, this incredible singer, songwriter and guitarist comes complete with a Brazilian band. Hailed as a genius' by the father of bossa nova, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Joyce epitomises the hip fashionability of danceable bossa nova and funky samba.
With a back catalogue of more than 20 albums stretching back as far as 1968, Joyce has been on the Brazilian music scene for a long time and is regarded as one of the country's most influential female artists.
If this taste of Brazil isn't enough why not pack up a picnic and get there early to enjoy a glorious Summer evening in the wonderful gardens followed by some fabulous Brazilian sounds.
Tickets are priced £15 from the box office on 023 8059 5151.
