THE Tories tightened their grip on Gosport Borough Council after poaching seats from both of their main party opponents in the local elections.
The ruling Conservatives now control 22 of the 34 seats at the authority, which they had previously run with a minority administration of 16 councillors.
With half the councillors up for election, the Liberal Democrats lost four of their 12- strong group, while Labour’s representation in the council chamber was reduced by one to three.
There is one also Independent councillor.
