A HUNT has been launched for a Hampshire childminder and housekeeper who has vanished without a trace.
Mystery surrounds the disappearance of Tutiernawati Darsim Suhana who disappeared two weeks ago and has not been seen since.
Police are concerned for her welfare as she took all her belongings except her passport.
Originally from Indonesia, Tutiernawati is not thought to have any family in this country.
She was last seen by a neighbour outside her home in Kingsway, Chandler’s Ford, wearing a blue kaftan and headscarf before apparently disappearing into thin air.
Tutiernawati had been living and working at the address for more than five years. She is about 5ft tall. Inspector Paul Newstead said: “We are concerned for Tutiernawati as this is very out of character. We need to make contact with her so that we can check her welfare. She has taken all of her belongings with her and has literally just disappeared.
“I am keen to hear from anyone who may have seen Tutiernawati, this could be someone who uses public transport in the area or someone from the Indonesian community living in the Southampton area.”
She was reported missing by her employer on April 30 and was last seen at 11.30am the same day.
Detectives have been trying to contact friends in the Indonesian community who may have spoken to her, checking CCTV and border agencies. As she does not drive or have access to a car it is believed she will be travelling by public transport.
Police are urging people who may have seen her on a bus or a train to contact them.
Detectives have no idea where Tutiernawati may be now and will be focusing their efforts on Eastleigh, Winchester, Southampton and as far a field as Portsmouth.
Police refused to say whether she was married or had children.
Anyone who has information about Tutiernawati’s whereabouts should contact Eastleigh police station on 101.
