ALI and Kahdija Shadab have performed a minor miracle on their plot.
They have toiled to transform the former wasteland that lies behind their home.
The land was overgrown and had become a bit of a dumping ground but steadily they have cleared the rubbish and started growing their fruit and veg.
The couple were used to growing their own produce in Kurdistan – and they have used the skills mastered in their homeland to great effect in Weston.
“We’ve got onions, lettuce, coriander, spinach, sweetcorn, garlic, salad veg and lots of potatoes. I’m even growing mushrooms in the shed,” said Ali, 41.
Kahdija, 33, said she really enjoyed working on the plot.
