GOLFERS and partygoers are needed to swing into action to help raise funds for a Hampshire charity on May 21.
For the 13th successive year, local MS charity the Geoff Smith Foundation will be holding its annual golf day at South Winchester Golf Club followed by a black tie dinner at the Southampton Novotel.
The Southampton-based charity was founded by MS sufferer Geoff Smith 13 years ago to help sufferers by providing holidays in Spain, adapting homes for better wheelchair access and providing drugs not available on the NHS. A major project this year, supported by The Hinkler pub, has been to raise money for a replacement motorised wheelchair for local long-term MS sufferer Jeff Bulpett. Former Saints stars Matt le Tissier and Jason Dodd, both patrons of the charity, launched the event with Geoff.
Six teams of four golfers are needed. The entry fee of £420 per team includes entry to the evening event and tickets for partners and friends are also available. Tickets are £48 from Geoff on 023 8043 3225 or 07786 156666 or email g.smith881@btinternet.com<&eh>
